I was actually looking for a good stereo receiver, but ended up with this anyway, based on the price. I've always liked Yamaha. Good build quality, never have any issues with it, easy to setup, etc. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

This purchase was a replacement for an older Yamaha receiver which gave fine service for many years but was not HDMI compatible. I was amazed at the advances and improvements in the capabilities of this receiver. The FM antenna is poor for receiving FM radio signals, however, and a TERK antenna is necessary in my setup. Great buy for the money. As an extra bonus, I did not know that this tuner had ability to become a true 7.1 tuner with the addition of an extra stereo amp for the two back speakers! Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

I bought this receiver to update to hi-def sound from blu-rays. This does a wonderful job. Just plug in the mic and the YPAO does its magic. I have the Polk Audio TSi-300 for the front, Polk Audio PSW-111 for the sub and Polk Audio rm-7 surround and center channel speakers. For movies its just like a movie theater. As for music this receiver pushes these speaks beautifully. I'm impressed daily. My neighbors now hate me! Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
- Easy to set up using the YPAO mic. Sound comes through crystal clear using Polk audio speakers.
- The manual hard to get along with, may need some time with receiver to get used to the menus. Once set up O.K.

Purchased the RX-V465 because I finally made the jump to high-def and needed the HDMI inputs to complete the home theater setup. I had two older A/V receivers and neither had HDMI inputs. I chose this particular model for a number of good reasons. 1. It was relatively inexpensive (had already spent enough money on an HD LCD TV, new TV stand, blu-ray player, and upgrading my cable service to HD) 2. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
