With this lens when you have it set at 1.4 the picture just seems so amazing. Almost as if it’s jumping from the photo right towards you and man that is amazing. Because well I’m not the greatest photographer in the world and if I can get awesome pictures like this from this lens I can only imagine what others can do. The background stays very blurred and it’s focuses in on the object very well even when using auto-focus. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

- Decent resolution across the frame when stopped down., Good resistance to flare., Low vignetting at maximum aperture.
- Barrel distortion may be noticeable in critical applications, Quality towards the edges doesn't really excite until stopped down to f/4

The EF 50mm f/1.4 USM showed an almost flawless performance during the lab- and field-tests both in terms of optical and mechanical quality. If I had to list a few negative points it would be vignetting and low contrast at f/1.4. So if you're looking for a lens in this class the EF 50mm f/1.4 USM is a great option. i cant believe no one else has added a review of this lense. the price has come down so its more affordable now. this is a must have for anyone with a camera. it takes good pics and is light weight and the auto focus is good. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

Na een tweetal negatieve ervaringen met de sigma 50mm equivalent, uiteindelijk dit objectief genomen. De beeldkwaliteit is prima, mooie kleuren en contrast. Het AF meganisme is niet de modernste en snelste maar wel effectief. Lees Meer

This is by far my favorite lens from Canon. The quality is excellent. It focuses fast, and produces amazing images. Its construction is solid and its size makes it easy to add to anybody's camera bag. For the life of me, I can't figure out why you would spend the extra $1000 on the f/1.2 L version, unless you are shooting in near pitch black or like throwing money away. Sure, it's lacking the L series red ring, but is that really worth another grand? Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

I had forgoten how prime lenses offer so much quality over zoom lenses. This 50mm will now become my primary go to lense as it is much easier to handle compared to my L zooms. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
