The Sigma 150-500mm f5-6.3 DG OS HSM superzoom has the most important aspect of any modern long-focus lens – an efficient AF drive system. This is very much the Sigma superzoom’s forte. As well as being quick its motor is also quiet and acts internally, so the manual-focusing ring remains motionless but can still be used at any time to make adjustments. The Sigma APO 150-50mm lens is a moderately fast, super-telephoto zoom designed to work with both APS-C and full-frame DSLR cameras. It offers quite useful close focusing (7.2 ft) and two modes of what they deem "optical stabilization" (OS.) The focal range of this optic will generally appeal to budding wildlife photographers after that extra bit of reach, without the expense of manufacturers own offerings, or the inconvenience of prime lenses. The price and the focal range of this lens will definitely appeal to many photographers. It is currently the lowest priced 500mm zoom lens available, and has many appealing features such as optical stabilisation and HSM focusing. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

Zeer goede lens wat prijs kwaliteit verhouding betreft, Lens stelt snel scherp en het OS systeem is nagenoeg geruisloos .Hij is wel wat zwaar maar is goed te hanteren .Wie veel zoom bereik wil en er niet teveel voor uit wil en kan geven is dit e Lees Meer

I just picked up a new Sigma 150-500mm lens for my wife's Nikon. I then tested it to compare it with our current Nikkor lenses: 300mm f4 AF prime, 70-300 vr, 55-300 vr. The image quality of the Sigma was noticeably better than the other 3 lenses at 300mm. It was also better at 500mm than the 300mm prime with a 1.4x tele-converter (the other 2 cannot take TC's). The 300mm prime is known as one of Nikon's sharpest and best made lenses. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

Used this lens on Nikon d90 for taking pictures of surfers. They came out sharp and the color was accurate. I did not have any of the problems people complained about. I hope to find a camera bag to use that I can fit all my stuff and this lens that isnt a giant bag. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

This lens is pretty sharp out to about 400mm. At 500 its acceptable only. If you are trying to shoot wildlife and birds it works well but it certainly cannot compete with the better Nikon long lenses but then again it is only about $900.00 and the good Nikons can run 4 to 5 grand.
