The Panasonic ZS7 and the Sony HX5V are so different it's not prudent to recommend one over the other. But after reading both detailed reviews, you shouldn't have any doubts about which one best fits your style. I like them both so much that I finally understand why pants come with at least two pockets. I had a little more trouble with the Panasonic ZS7 because too many of the intelligent features didn't work for me. Features like Intelligent ISO, I learned to leave off. It wasn't that long ago that "superzoom" - or "ultrazoom," if you prefer - digital compacts hovered in the vicinity of the 10x optical zoom multiplication factor that defined the starting point for the class. Now that lens envelope has been pushed to 30x for the biggest zooms available, and who knows where it might end. It's certainly a compelling proposition, and one which Panasonic has further enhanced with full Manual control over exposures, improved stabilisation and a built-in GPS to record the position on your photos along with local time. Cleverly the GPS capability on the TZ10 / ZS7 isn't just limited to recording co-ordinates either, as Panasonic's included a database of countries, towns and over half a million landmarks which are displayed on-screen. By trying to do too much and adding GPS and 14 Megapixel sensor, Panasonic seems to have forgotten to work on the basics: the TZ10 doesn't really produce photos that are any better than its predecessors. Hello Folks, This camera is a masterpiece! I have my eight year old take shots with this camera, while I am taking the same shot with the Nikon D5100, and, I'll tell you, there are times when this camera takes better shots. I have taken it all over Ireland and Scotland two years ago, and the photos are amazing.The movies are fantastic, too! After using this camera for a few weeks I am amending my rating and giving it 5 stars. This camera is truly incredible. The intelligent automatic is amazing---I only move it to manual for a few special situations. The only real complaint is that I occasionally inadvertently hit the video button. This is probably going to be one of the most overlooked cameras out there. I did some research and this thing has to be the best value on the market today. LEICA knows how to make GREAT lenses and coupled with the Panasonic CCD, this is a really good camera. De Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10 is een kleine 12.1 megappixel camera met een 25mm groothoek, 12x optische zoom, GPS functie en AVCHD Lite video opname.

De ITR (Intelligent Resolution Technology) geeft een optimale kwaliteit aan zowel normale als digitale beelden. Deze techniek vergroot het optische zoombereik met een factor 1.3, waardoor 16x intelligente zoom ontstaat. De ITR techniek vergroot niet alleen het zoombereik, maar zorgt tevens voor mooiere foto’s in bepaalde situaties zoals hoge snelheid en dimlicht.

De camera beschikt over een reismode met GPS functie. In de reismode kan men eenvoudig reisgerelateerde zaken terugvinden. Zodra het toestel wordt aangezet, schakelt het GPS systeem zichzelf automatisch in. De camera herkent direct de locatie waar het zich bevindt en past de locale tijd aan op het apparaat. Deze functie zorgt voor automatische opslag van locaties bij elke foto. Op deze wijze is het eenvoudig om na bijvoorbeeld een vakantie, foto’s op bestemming terug te vinden.

De POWER O.I.S. is de optische stabilisatie technologie die onscherpte corrigeert met een handbewegingsnelheid van 4000x per seconde. Deze mode is in staat zijn omgeving te herkennen en zijn instellingen hiervoor te optimaliseren. Op deze manier is het mogelijk om een voorwerp automatisch te blijven volgen bij tegenlicht. Een nieuwe toevoeging is de Happy Mode, die ervoor zorgt dat kleuren worden geoptimaliseerd voor mooie levendige beelden.

De Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10 neemt HD (High Definition) video’s op in AVCHD Lite of Motion JPEG formaat. Het opnemen van video’s is zeer eenvoudig. Met één druk op de knop aan de achterkant van het toestel, wordt de video opname automatisch gestart.

Reismodusproblemen

Zodra de reismodus is ingeschakeld en de wereldtijd op automatisch geeft hij de tijd van bestemming aan. Hij zou toch naar de actuele tijd moeten kijken en aanpassen via GPS zodra je op de bestemmingsplaats bent of eventuele tussentijdse bestemmingen.

Is het mogelijk om met deze camera ook vergrotingen uit een opgeslagen foto te maken, ook met het beeld dan wat te schuiven bv. iets omhoog of opzij ?
