    Panasonic has done a careful job of pruning the Panasonic ZS7 into a Panasonic ZS5. It has maintained everything that earned the Panasonic ZS7 a Dave's Pick without losing any of the photographic chops of the Panasonic ZS5's more expensive sibling. With Intelligent Auto you get an unusually capable automatic camera. And with the PASM manual modes, you also get a very flexible, creative machine. Toss in 720p HD movie captures just for fun.     The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8 / ZS5 is a 12 Megapixel pocket super-zoom camera. Released in January 2010, alongside the higher-end TZ10 / ZS7, they're the most recent models in Panasonic's enormously popular TZ series which introduced the 'travel zoom' classification. The TZ8 / ZS5's stand-out feature is a 12x optical zoom.     I onwed this camera for 11 months and took 168 pictures. I bought it from Best Buy for $300 along with another $80 for a four year warranty. After 11 months, the Battery ID-Security would no longer recognize either of the two Panasonic batteries I bought with it. After two seeesions of bringing the camera back to Best Buy, they said it was non-repairable and gave me a $149 store credit as compensation! The $80 warranty with 3 years remaining was a total loss.     I bought Panasonic DMC-ZS3 when it came out for almost $400 and I had been very happy with it. Last Month, I dropped it on the ground hard and it died. So I bought this one mainly because I was so happy with this camera but also I can still use the batteries. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    I have had this camera for over a year and have gone to many places with it and I must say it has performed very admirably and better than expected. With its many many options, great looking pics in most modes, and super zoom capability, I would venture to say that its a great backup camera for anyone who is serious about photography OR someone who wants a very decent Point and Shoot camera at a great price. De 12.1-megapixel DMC-TZ8 bevat een 25mm LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR goorthoeklens met 12x optische zoom (35mm equivalent: 25-300mm).
