With competition in the discrete audio market hotting up considerably in recent times, ASUS have certain picked a challenging period to embark upon a sound card project of their own. Thankfully, the Xonar D2 has turned out to be a pretty solid attempt all in all - Nothing spectacular per se, but a well-featured board capable of holding its own against the pack of Oxygen HD-sporting parts on the market, with a couple of interesting little twists of its own to stake out... The Xonar D2 is certainly a stellar sound card, but you might wait for a price drop before you commit. If you have to pick between these two at these prices, you'll get more out of the ASUS Xonar D2—unless you're a Creative X-Fi zealot. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

There's a limited number of inputs though - for the price - and to be treated seriously for music production, this really needs a break-out box brimming with jacks of all shapes and sizes. The sounds quality is nice. The backlit jacks make it a little easy IMO to reconfigure your speakers. I had a few hiccups with some older games and EAX stuff. But I don't play game anymore so that is no longer an issue. The dolby features operate fast and sound superb. Realtek could sometimes pull off a few neat tricks with surround but overall it didn't sound well. The software bundle is generous, IMO. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

Der Hersteller Asus, nicht nur bekannt durch seine zuverlässigen Mainboards und edlen Notebooks (mit Top Bildqualität), überzeugt neuerdings auch im Marktsegment hochwertiger 7.1 Sound-Karten für ihren PC mit sehr hoher Wiedergabetreue. Installation unter Win 7 64 kein Problem. Aktuellsten D2 Treiber runterladen -> Neustart -> OB Chip im Bios Deaktivieren -> Hochfahren -> alte OBSoundTreiber deinstallieren -> runterfahren -> D2 einbauen -> hochfahren -> D2 Treiber Installieren -> Wunschgemäß einstellen -> Fertig! Mein 5.1 System läuft ohne Probleme. Ein "kosmetisches" Manko ist jedoch zu benennen. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

Ohrgasmus pur... Bin jetzt seit Gestern von einer Onboard Realtek auf die ASUS Xonar D2X umgestiegen und ich muss sagen das es ein unfassbar GROßER Unterschied ist!!! Eigentlich auch kein Wunder, aber mich faszinieren jetzt die sauberen Klänge, der wütende harter Bass so, dass ich nix anderes dazu schreiben kann. Einbau war denkbar einfach, auch der kleine 4pol Stromanschluss war dafür schnell gefunden. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
