The overall experience with the sound card was a pleasant one. At its price point, it\'s clearly an entry level sound card, with its bigger brothers targeting the enthusiasts and audiophiles. However, that\'s not to say that the Xonar DS is bad because it inherits much of the aspects that made the other Xonars so popular. The AV200 chip and DS3D GX audio engine complement each other for an excellent music and gaming experience. The card does have its draw backs. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

I bought this card to replace my aging Creative Audigy 2 (circa 2001). I bought this card because I use a 5.1 speaker setup through a Denon home theater receiver connected to my PC. The Xonar DS was the least expensive sound card that can do Dolby Digital Live encoding. This encodes all positional surround sound in games and movies in real-time, and then outputs them through the SPDIF port on the sound card into an optical audio cable, then into my receiver. The software for this card is different then what I'm used to, not as easy to use at first, but after time you'll get a hang of it. I'm seeing how long this card lasts while I get the DX in my next system. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

- none yet but I have a history of them getting too hot and dying, was hoping for one with a fan. But this seems to be holding it's own so far

I have a Lenovo A70, and this card should have worked. It may be fine for others, but after installing and configuring several different ways, it simply would not output any sound whatsoever for me. Had to return for a refund. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

Hi, ich kann mich noch genau daran erinnern als ich meinen erten PC bekommen habe, es war der C64 mit Datasette, man war ich stolz. Mitlerweile ist diese Technik zum schmunzeln, dennoch habe ich mich mit Computern beschaeftigt, habe mir eigene PC s zusammen gebaut und Case Modding gemacht. Jetzt hat mich mein Bruder beauftragt ihm einen guten aber guenstigen Computer zusammen zu bauen und dazu gehoert auch eine top Soundkarte und zwar die Asus Xonar DS 7.1. Nun habe ich mich endlich auch zum Kauf einer Soundkarte entschieden und ich bereue es nicht. Nach anfänglichen Problemen mit Asus' Audio Center (kein Bass), erkenne ich meine 30 € Lautsprecher nicht wieder. Wie bereits einige erwähnten, werden Dinge hörbar welche zuvor kaum wahrnehmbar waren bzw. nicht. Auch das Dauer-Rauschen der Lautsprecher hat sich nun endgültig verabschiedet. Alles in allem kann ich also eine klare Kaufempfehlung aussprechen. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
