    Though the purpose of this review was more to build a bank of headphones to compare open-backed cans to compare to in the future, the AKG K701 introduced in 2007 are still impressive to this day. With a great frequency response, extremely comfortable wear and open soundstage, these are a good entry to mid-level pickup for those who are fans of an analytical sound.     Immer auf der Suche nach dem perfekten Klang, war für mich der Auslöser für diesen Testbericht. Bereits positive Berichte über den Referenzkopfhörer von AKG den K701 hat unsere Neugierde geweckt.     Fenomenaal! Welk een detail laat dit apparaat horen. Fluweelzacht als het moet en krachtig en diep al het kan. In tegenstelling tot allerlei reviews is de bas uitgemeten strak en diep zonder opdringerig te worden. Lees Meer

    I agree 100% with Road Warrior's review and the comments about the top of head pain, being an owner of these myself whose head hurts after an hour or so of wearing them. Plus, I end up with an "Our Gang" Alfalfa-style cowlick on the top of my head where it presses down, which I then have to walk around with the rest of the day...     The K701s are a fairly cheap pair of headphones with an amazing soundstage. This of course makes it a natural at playing live recordings and classical music. The treble is clear and high, the mids are plenty, and the bass (while not plentiful) is precise and hits the lower notes perfectly. Definitely not a good choice for heavy rock/techno/etc though.     Being an AKG K-240 owner for over 25 years and they are still going, I wanted to step up beyond my " Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    • Very precise and smooth midrange,good bass, and highs see cons.
    • to get above you better have 300 hours for break in. Not for mobile devices

    Nach langen Jahren "Kopfhörerabstinenz" habe ich mich vor einer Woche entschlossen, mir wieder einen zuzulegen. Da ich vor vielen Jahren als Teenager mit knappen Budget nach intensivem Ausprobieren in einem Hifi-Laden bei einem AKG K 141 hängengeblieben war (auch damals habe ich hauptsächlich Klassik gehört) und diesen benutzt habe, bis er nach Jahren buchstäblich auseinandergefallen ist, habe ich mich nun gleich wieder bei AKG umgeschaut, denn ich bin einfach davon...
