The SoundDock Portable retains the original SoundDock's main appeal: simplicity. Take it out of the box, plug it in, dock your iPod, and you get good audio in an attractive package. This speaker system looks like an over priced indulgence. But here's the deal, the days of monster speakers and big amplifiers are over. And who has space for that? Despite that this thing looks trendy and such, it is every bit as terrific sounding as any home system you've ever heard of. And this puppy can go on vacation with you! The snug fit of our Bose speakers in the case is reassuring, as our speakers are not cheap! The different pouches in the inside of the lid hold the remote, my nano, and our ipod. It's easy to make sure everything is in it's place. The handle is sturdy, which helps when we are passing the speakers from land to the boat. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

The sound quality is very impressive. For the volume I use, it's almost as good as my Bose home theater system. My only gripe is the finicky iPod dock, which is hard to connect and wobbly. Sometimes I have to jiggle a little to make sure the connections is good, otherwise you end up with mono instead of stereo. This also makes accessing to touch screen difficult, especially after my iPod goes to sleep. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

- No FM tuner. Dock should be of better quality. Price is too high. Bose can get the price because of having a unique product, not because of overall quality.

If you didn't know already Bose does make well made and nice sounding products at a great price. HOWEVER, what Bose seems to mean is nice sound small speakers and small speakers really are not all that overwhelming. This unit is well made and does sound nice. I use it with my Nano but, I feel the remote could be more interactive with my content on the Nano. I was somewhat but not surprised that there is no RADIO with the unit.
