    You know what? Go ahead and forget the whole “3-D” part of this notebook. Yes, it comes with polarizing lenses (and a clip-on attachment for you bespectacled Poindexters out there), and yes, it can display 3-D content. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    • Super-cheap, with overall impressive specs for its price level. Outstanding performance, even as a gaming rig.
    • 3-D technology, as implemented here, is years away from prime time. Bafflingly stupid design choices. Dim screen backlighting. Heavy.

First came the touch-enabled 5738PG , and now the 5738DG features 3D technology.     Although the 3D demo material looks good, we experienced mixed results when converting content that wasn’t designed with 3D in mind. Photos and videos remained flat, but we were fairly impressed with the games we tested it on. The big problem is that the TriDef software places too much of a strain on the laptop’s rather limited graphics resources, and in order to get decent frame rates we had to whack detail and resolution settings right down. This new laptop by Acer is no ordinary model, the simple addition of a letter "D" in the model name has added another dimension to the viewing.     Offering power and features far beyond what we expected at this price, the Aspire 5738-644G50Mn is an exceptional laptop and a true bargain.     I bought this laptop for my mother-in-law a few months ago and she is quite pleased with it. It isn't exactly blue but its color is very attractive nevertheless. However, it came with all of the other specifications advertised on Amazon.com. It boots up and shuts down very quickly and its performance of tasks is satisfactory.     I'm using the notebook mainly for multimedia use, movies, music and games. I was surprised how it handles 3d gaming with all settings on high. If you are looking for a gaming computer but also want to surf the net, then I recommend this notebook. The 3D conversion of DVD's works well, and is also adjustable to your taste. It is advisable to follows Acer's advice and do the backup DVD's as it will save you a headache should you need to do a recovery. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    Well I brought this in november 2Well I brought this in november 2010 second hand for £380 with vista installed. Upon turn on I was loving the screen quality, The oem bundled software was there and was just rebranded top end packages of out of date software. but it is 2 years old so what do you expect?.     gute Verarbeitungsqualität, schneller Prozessor,sehr viel Arbeits&Festplattenspeicher! Akku könnte etwas standfester sein aber immer noch gut! 3D Effekte sind echt verblüffend!
