- EPS CPU power plug is still in an awkward spot

For revision 2.0, Gigabyte has also tweaked the X58A-UD3R's power management with a view to improved overclocking headroom. On paper, this board ticks all our boxes. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

We must say that the 1366 platform had little to offer to an average buyer, as the 1156 offers just a tad slower performance for a lower price. Multi GPU configurations and workstations with high memory requirements were practically the only ones that really needed the 1366. As we have found out in this review of the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2.0), it has some differences from the senior model GA-X58A-UD5 (rev. 2.0) , yet those differences are mostly insignificant. The lack of Power and Reset buttons doesn’t affect functionality at all because even enthusiasts who run mainboards on open testbeds do not always use them. I've been building PCs since the 80s and this is the sweetest motherboard I have ever seen! So much flexibility in setup, USB 3.0, SATA 3, it supports FOUR VIDEO CARDS (three dual slot cards!) and comes with all the cables necessary. I bought it for the durability and bonus! Got an amazing motherboard that will be the foundation for my main rig for years to come! Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

I had iBuyPower build me a PC with this motherboard. In a few months the on-board LAN died. Right then I should have pushed iBuyPower to give me a whole new motherboard. 2 weeks out of warranty this thing is dead. Useless. All the features in the world aren't worth a dime if it doesn't last. DO NOT buy this motherboard. I would not recommend this brand in general. Nor would I recommend iBuyPower by the way. I cannot attest to the functionality of the RAID features on the ICH or marvel sata controllers; have made no attempt to use them. I have not tested the usb3 or 6g SATA stuff. everything works as expected in USB2 mode and SATA2 mode though. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
- Plenty of expandability. Bios is fairly well fleshed out. Lots of SATA ports. The diagnostic LEDs on the board display usable information for troubleshooting. Decent c...
- exotic features like vt-d apparently require a unofficial bios update from gigabyte or some similar run-arounds to activate. Some bios features have rather vague label...

This board has been nothing but problems trying to get it configured to recognize all the memory and not reboot itself several times during post. Read the forums as they are littered with issues. I will be sending it back and getting an ASUS board. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
