    The Asus Eee PC 1001P's battery run times are impressive despite its low price. If all energy-saving options are on it can last for just over 11 hours . In these 682 minutes we had the computer turned on but inactive, with WLAN deactivated and the lowest screen brightness (power saving mode). The more realistic battery life test involves surfing the web wirelessly . After 6 hours (360 minutes) the battery was dead. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    The ASUS Eee PC 1001P is the budget entry in ASUS' netbook arsenal and it came out swinging to take out the competition. The overall build quality and specs in this netbook can meet (and sometimes surpass) those found in more expensive netbooks. After all, the company practically invented the market, and virtually owned it for some time, as Dell, HP, and others dithered over whether to get into Netbooks at all. Asus also makes some of the best Netbooks, with excellent battery life, good keyboards and touchpads, and higher-end models with dual-core CPUs and Nvidia’s Ion GPU.     I did a ton of research trying to find the best netbook and Asus is on the top of the list. Probably rated by gamers and a bunch of teenagers because there are more of them in this world, that's why this brand is so popular. Window 7 is complicated because it has too much unnecessary things. Why does Asus have their own liveupdate and other junks I don't understand.     I've been shopping for a netbook for awhile now and finally decided to try the 1001P-PU17. I mainly use this in college for internet browsing, Office apps, and the occasional movie. The size (like all netbooks) is a major pro when used on classroom desk; the small footprint allows for more usable workspace. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    The trackpad problem seems common, and a common solution is to get an external mouse. Lugging around another piece of hardware sort of defeats the concept of a netbook for me. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    • Nice form factor, feels solid, good screen, good keyboard, large HDD.
    • The trackpad device failed. Reinstalling the driver isn't possible, because the system doesn't even 'see' the hardware device. I'm forced to work this out with the hor...

    Asus gets it right again. Very good value/cost. Beats all other netbooks I've tried. Works as advertised. Runs Gmail and Google Doc fine. I don't feel difference visiting sites like cnn, bcc. Sluggish for youtube's HD, typical for Atom-powered netbooks. The secondary power button boots "Express Gate", a simple Linux OS that boots in 5 seconds (very impressive). So I can turn on my computer like tuning on a light bulb. It comes with a Firefox-like browser. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
