Overall, you get less functionality for your money, but if you're willing to shell out for beauty and don't mind having a battery that you cannot replace, the 1008HA will perform just the same. When the ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Seashell first launched, it impressed us with its thin design and above-average performance. Now updated with Windows 7 Home Premium, a larger 320GB hard drive, twice the RAM, and a suite of ASUS-branded extras, the 1008HA is still a svelte and stylish netbook. The design pleases and also the associated interface covers will surely find their fancier. The performance is on the well-known netbook level despite optimised energy efficiency and is added to by the standard range of interface equipment. The keyboard is good, the overall weight low , and the sound emissions are very discreet. My new eee pc only worked for three months, then it stopped working gradually over the next two months... first the power supply started to get flakey, then the wifi card stopped working, and then the lcd screen broke. In short, the laptop was a lemon. This leads to my second complaint.... ASUS warranty and repair are horrendous. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

The Asus 1008 HA is ultraportable, nicely designed and does what you expect from a netbook. It makes my older Asus 1002 HA look big. I have gotten the white version of it, since I didn't want fingerprints to be seen on the surface. The only downside of this product is that it is difficult to upgrade, in fact you may lose your warranty if you try to do it yourself. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

This is a very prudent purchase if you're looking for something super tiny to take with you for trips of any flavor. I'd recommend going to 2GB of RAM as this significantly improves the capabilities of this netbook. I'd also recommend getting yourself a SD Memory module for use with this beastie in order to keep your files in the unlikely event that something happens, you'll not be high and dry. - Very responsive touchpad.
- These might be a little nitpicky, but ... it doesn't have an easy option for an upgrade to one of the Windows 7 variants.

I got this netbook for my daughter to use in school. It's been a great success. It's small enough for her to easily take to school in her purse and the battery life gets her through the day, most days. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

Runs windows XP which is still my favorite of the operating systems. This will be used almost exclusively to run a standalone management system for my cars engine, which it has already proven to be more than capable to handle.
