At first glance, the HP Mini 5102 netbook looks just like its Mini 5101 predecessor: It shares the same roomy keyboard, aluminum-and-magnesium alloy chassis, bright 10.1-inch screen, and businesslike design as that Editors’ Choice-winning netbook. Inside, however, the Mini 5102 has been revamped to use Intel's new Atom N450 processor. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

A smart option for road warriors and students, the HP Mini 5102 (starting at $399; $424 as configured) is more durable and secure than the typical netbook, and won’t need to see an outlet until the end of your work or school day. Like its predecessor, this 2.8-pound sequel sports an all-metal case and a comfortable keyboard, but HP has added new color options, facial recognition, and an optional capacitive multitouch display. • Great looks and solid construction; good keyboard; 7,200rpm HDD standard; lots of optional upgrades.
    • Fingerprint-prone; can get extremely expensive; weird function-key switching; can't compete with CULV ultrathins.

The Mini 5102 is built around Intel's new "Pine Trail" platform, with a 1.66GHz Atom N450 processor with integrated GMA 3150 graphics; 1GB of RAM; and a 160GB, 7,200-rpm hard drive. This adds up to performance on par with other netbooks, including first-generation Atom models -- slow in benchmarks (18 minutes to render Cinebench R10 's sample scene), but perky enough when loading and running basic productivity applications. HP's sturdy and stylish Mini 5102 is a slight upgrade to one of our favourite netbooks, the Mini 5101, but we had hoped for a little more fresh thinking for 2010 Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

Comments about HP Mini 5102 Business Netbook Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz 802.11b/g/n Wireless 10.1" WSVGA 2GB DDR2 SO-DIMM 160GB: When I ordered this netbook I did my research and this website had the best price with the 2gig memory. Out of the box the machine needed a little fine tuning i.e. lighter antivir, desktop cleaner so it could run a little faster. Nice machine I'm pleased with the performance and would consider buying another from this retailer. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

HP Mini 5102 with 1366x768 screen and the Broadcom video chip is not available, but if it were, it would cost a whopping $700. The 1366x768 screen ($50 extra), the larger 66-Wh (6-cell) battery (extra $25), and the Broadcom chip, would be (hypothetically) available only in custom configurations that start at over $600. Without the 1366x768 screen it is very pricy and mediocre. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

Overall I am really pleased with this netbook - it certainly has a solid feel about it and the HP software/hardware combo to secure the HDD against shock is a plus for the pro user. Battery life is very good and it has what you need without some of the more useless buttons on many net/laptops that are rarely used and get in the way. For the professional user this is worth the money. The finish and performance is the best I have seen on a laptop for a while. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
