    Last year, Samsung entered the netbook market with a strong contender in the NC10 . This system impressed us with its sturdy and comfortable keyboard, good performance, and 6.5 hours of battery life. Now, the company is replacing the venerable NC10 with the $399 N140, an update that includes a more powerful Atom processor, Windows 7 Starter Edition, a larger 250GB hard drive, and a snazzier design.     Samsung continues to refine rather than define its netbook range, bringing with it a staid screen but a beefed up battery life, a smoother keypad and the best trackpad on any netbook yet.     At last Samsung have just gone ahead and replaced the NC10 with something better, rather than try to cook up yet another endless variation on the theme. The N140 takes all the good bits of the NC10 but adds a larger HDD, a bigger battery and a more modern operating system and some other bits and bobs like draft-n Wi-Fi and stereo speakers and then squeezes them all into a slightly smaller and lighter package but without much of an increase in price.     Samsung N140 is the descendant of a model that received plenty of praise and positive criticism. It almost cannot go wrong, and it does not. The design is practically perfect in our eyes; it seems sturdy and trustworthy, and you are not afraid to bring it with you on the go. The entire inside is matte and will thus be hard to smudge and look like a window a 2-year old with greasy fingers has played with. The lid is glossy however, and quite susceptible to fingerprints.     I ordered this for a trip to Europe - I didn't think that I could really do what I needed to do on an iPad. This little netbook is a real winner, it is light, but sufficiently powerful. I loaded it up with Office 2010 and Quickbooks Pro 2011. Although it is not as fast as I would like, it does the job well. I have also used it with remote desktop access.     • Battery life: I can get about 6-10 hours of this baby (depending on how much cpu I use and such) even after owning it almost 2 years!
    • I think my only problem is I wish the screen would tilt back a few more degrees, but its hardly an issue in reality.

    I got this netbook cause of its size and portability i do alot of photography so i need to offload my pictures to its nice big 250gig drive this is nice sunce its has usb ports 2.0 very fast there, in my spare time i like to also watch some divx movies everyhing is very nice on this machine and even thou windows starter only allows 3 windows to be open at a given period thats no problem at all, please do understand this is a good thing being that the machine is not a Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    After playing with this a month now, wife and I really appreciate the larger keys and non-glare screen. (great at breakfast table near a window) Got the touch pad dialed in to suit (still get the occasional unexpected movement). Anyway a couple of problems here. You can't use this netbook right away because when you first turn it on it still has to finish installing the OS. Then it wants to partition the 250gb drive. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    I quite like it when I first bought it, because I expected to use it with a long-life battery. But, then, I am very disappointed when really use this N-140, as its battery' s life is only up to 5.5 to 6 hours at most for MSOffice and a bit less for Internet! It advertisement said something like 7, or in some reviews, even 10 'working hours', not just standby! Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
