    M y beat is Audio and Video, though recently I have been covering only the second part, that is video, in the form of Monitors, projectors and what have you. I think it’s time to get back to the other enjoyable human sense, and that is Audio. We have none other than Altec Lansing to make the comeback, and a very cool product by them.     Altec Lansing's glossy black FX3022 speakers look very distinctive, and we were rather taken with their Dalek-like appearance. The power button and volume controls are located on top of the right-hand satellite. These are the first 2.2 speakers we've seen. Instead of being separate units, the subwoofers are built into the satellites. They're easily loud enough to irritate the neighbours, with bass that is both deep and thumping.     I found that I had to turn the bass way down on my computer equaliser in order to prevent songs from sounding muddy. This was true for a variety of genres (rock, blues, psychedelic). After awhile I found the subwoofers started distorting too easily. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    Definitely great buy, found mine at Compusa for $50. For the price these are; in my opinion, best bang for the buck. The sound quality is 9/10, bass is 10/10, treble is 8/10, innovation is 9/10, easy to use 10/10. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    The speakers have good looks and reproduce mids and highs fairly well, but the bass would begin to distort even at temperate volume levels. At moderate volumes the speakers themselves don't look to moving to their limits yet the sound they reproduce sounds like one of a much higher volume level. Pretty disappointed in these. In the end there is no true replacement for a sub, even a small 5 or 6 inch one. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
