Apocalypse! Een lastig woord. Toch overkomt het de aarde onder het motto “foutje, bedankt!” Raar maar waar, zo begint het verhaal van de eerste game van Software-studio Vigil Games, genaamd Darksiders. Eén van de vier ruiters van de Apocalyps, degene genaamd War, wordt listig erin geluisd om de Aarde en daarmee de mensheid te vernietigen. With "Darksiders" being compared to a number of other games it was always a danger that it could fall short having been unfairly compared to such titles. What Darksiders offers though is a very enjoyable game in it’s own respect backed by a solid story and some excellent visuals. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

Darksiders deserves attention. It's a highly entertaining adventure, with some gorgeous visuals, devilish puzzles and exciting action. Fingers crossed the sequel will build on this impressive debut. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

The new year is being welcomed by a deluge of games portraying the epic struggles between ecumenical forces?Heaven and Hell, gods and man, angels and demons. i just got darksiders and let me tell you its worth it. let me tell you about it. you are WAR first horseman of the apocalypse and rider of the red horse. you are sent to clear your name after being framed for prematurely bringing the world to an end. samel asks you to get the 4 still beating hearts of the chosen. the rest ill let you find out. The concept is fun: sci-fi angels vs. b-movie demons and you're the abusive legal guardian putting them in timeout. It's tough to come up with original ideas these days, especially in the video game world, and this one had just enough twist on it to entertain me, so I picked it up used (just a week, or so, after release). Overall, the game is definitely worth a playthrough, as it has decent unlockables to accompany an already enjoyable gameplay experience. With a rich enough storyline to maintain interest and a frenetic pace as War is constantly on the run from spiritual foes, Darksiders (the title may be its weakest link) commands four stars out of five.
