    With basic wireless N broadband routers now available for less than eighty quid, D-Link is asking a lot for the DIR-855. There's no denying it has more features than you can shake a stick at and wireless performance is better than most, but if you want a more affordable albeit less well endowed dual-band broadband router then check out Netgear's WNDR3300.     Bought this product because I needed a longer and stronger range of signal so I can access internet far away from the regular range (which is the D-Link Promiss for this product). Although I could stay connected while in a longer distance, I tried to use the USB port capability to set up back up for different computers in my network but software interface between the router and external storage lost the connection so many times that I gave up to keep with my wi-fi backup...     I bought this to replace the D-Link DIR 655 model I have owned for 2 years. The DIR 655 worked very well, but I had wanted a dual band version. I like these models because they are among the only ones left with exposed antennae, which I think should / does give better range. I had hoped to use the higher speed 5GHz band for streaming Netflix to my Roku box (works at both 2.4 and 5 GHz) to my TV. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    I have a the dlink 4500 gaming router and you can switch between the 2.4 and 5 and it works on both the signal is strong and no dropping the signal. I don't understand why this is suppose to be a better and more expensive router and its does not work as well as the gaming router Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    • The router was brand new and the 5 ghz band would drop intermentaly, called support and all they did was have me make a few changes. I try again and still same issue 5...

    Onbeschoft snel, stabiel en ook nog fraai om te zien. Een dure jongen, deze router, maar je hebt wel meteen alles in huis waar je ooit behoefte aan zou kunnen krijgen! Mijn hele netwerkbende draait over deze router, zonder morren. HD-videocontent naar de Xbox vanaf de LaCie Hipserv schijf, tegelijk downloaden op 4 Mbps uit het internet, en vanaf een notebookje even printen naar de netwerk laserprinter, de DIR doet het gewoon zonder dat je er iets van merkt.
