    Although it's a bit slow and comes with little software, the Canon CanoScan 5600F offers lots of value thanks to its high-quality scans and low price. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    • High-quality scans of both prints and film (slides and negatives). LED light source for reflective scans eliminates warm-up time.
    • Scans only four slides or one strip of film at a time. Dust and scratch removal feature does little for scratches.

    Looking over my shoulder recently, I was surprised at how much I have come to depend on a scanner. Early on, I had a love/hate relationship with desktop scanners, mainly because of their early and fiddly operating software. And don’t bring up the topic of dedicated film scanners! I trashed my fax machine and its dedicated phone line a while ago time ago. Today, if I need to fax anything it gets scanned, saved as a JPEG or PDF, then attach it to an email. Easy.     The first thing I did was use the filmstrip scanner and I'll say that I am impressed with this feature alone. The scanned images look as good as when I had them printed out 11 years ago. It is fast and quiet too. It's bulky in length and height, but I've scanned 7 pictures at once which is a great timesaver. The software was really easy to use and broke up the separate pictures automatically, which is probably, hopefully a standard feature these days. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    I was a little disaapointed with the way the scanner came packaged from Newegg. The scanner arrived in the manufacturer's box (not a problem) and box lid was not sealed in any way for shipment. In other words, if someone wanted to take something out of the box while in transit all they would have had to do is flip the little cardboard flap down and flip the lid open.     I used this to scan 35mm slides, 35mm color negatives and color slides, as well as 110mm color negatives (although this isn't part of the specifications). In order to scan 110mm negatives and have better control of the scanner's resolution and advanced features, you need to use the "Scanner Driver" mode instead of the default mode provided with the accompanying software.     Does a good job with prints or slides, scans of negatives are overexposed and washed out. I bought 2 of these and the both do the same thing. Print scanner software is great and auto crops prints. The organizer software is clumsey and convoluted. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
