The V30 is fast and has accurate colours. Even though some shades aren't quite right, the final result is acceptable. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

- Small colour discrepancy with yellow, black, green and magenta, Scans lack a little contrast, No film or slide scanning

Dedicated scanners appear to be something of a dying breed thanks to a combination of digital photography and all-in-one multifunction printers. That's a pity, as for digitising old photos, artwork, documents and ephemera, dedicated scanners still have an important role to play. The V30 doesn't have everything â€“ if you want a built-in transparency unit, for instance, you'll need to pay around Â£20 extra for the Perfection V300 â€“ but the scan specifications and results are significantly ahead of those offered by most MFDs. For the occasional scanning job, most MFDs can still do an acceptable job. But should you need high-detail and vibrant colours, you'll still find it in your interest to buy a standalone flatbed like the V30. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

If you need a scanner just to digitise your old holiday snaps or keep on top of household paperwork, there's little point in splashing out on an expensive model with the best image quality and fastest performance, especially when cheap scanners are so capable. The V30 is the baby of Epson's scanner range and the only one that can't scan negatives or transparencies. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

I do agree with other remarks I've read on this scanner that the cord placement is extremely odd. But for the price and the quality of the scans, I'm willing to overlook it. Plus it's fast to scan, love that. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

- Power cord and USB cord are in the front by the buttons, kinda unwieldy.

The scanner works fine on a Macintosh. It doesn't interface all that well with OmniPage Pro X (which is among my principal uses although I use it GRaphic Converter for capturing color), but is somewhat usable. I tend to use the PDF creation software, which isn't entirely obvious and somewhat temperamental, with the scan Office settings and then load that into OmniPage Pro X. Being able to Button scan on a Mac is convenient. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

I've had a few different scanners over the years from Epson, HP, and Canon but this one definitely makes the grade for my needs. With digital cameras, I don't really have a need to scan many photos but this scanner definitely makes short work of that when needed. Mostly I use it to scan documents, financial statements, etc. to reduce the amount of paperwork I keep at the house and it handles this with ease. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
- Excellent scans, LED light source means no "warm up" and low power usage. Ability to scan to PDF (including multi-page documents) works great as well.
- Can't think of anything!

If you are a Linux OS user, then the front panel buttons (besides the power button) will be useless, but I knew that going in. I'd probably have given scanner a higher rating had I installed it on a more mainstream OS. But it is fast to warm up, light, small foot print, and USB. If you are looking for an easy to use inexpensive scanner, this is for you. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
