The Plustek OpticFilm 7400 is a dedicated scanner for negatives and slides. With the aid of the included SilverFast software, the scanner does a phenomenal job of easily scanning negatives and slides and making them look great--without a lot of editing intervention. It makes multiple passes when it scans, so it's not meant to be fast; and it will work only with standard 35mm negatives and slides. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

Ik heb eerder een goedkopere scanner gekocht. De resolutie was ronduit slecht. Punt is dat ik al jaren geen dia's meer maak maar vele oude dia's in bezit had. Dus het apparaat schrijf je min of meer af op deze aantallen dia's. Je zoekt dus niet het duurste app. uit. Met dit product heb je een prima apparaat om je dia's te digitaliseren. De software biedt goede gelegenheid om je voorkeuren in te stellen per dia ( als je dat wil ). Lees Meer

I read all of the reviews, and was undecided between the lower-end image-capture devices that take a single image from negatives, and the real scanners like this Plustek. In then end, I went with this model, the 7400, which is the most basic of the Plustek scanners. I figured that the increase in image quality over the picture-taking-type negative "scanners" of the Plustek would be worth the extra cost, but I didn't feel the need to go overboard and get the top of the... When used in combination with the included Silverfast software, this is an economical way to transfer 35mm slides and film to high quality digital images. This was my first experience with this kind of scanner, and I followed the directions given, and within minutes had created a first rate digital copy of a 35 mm slide (seen below). The Plustek 7400 is more sophisticated than my expertise and the learning curve is steep........but the results are well worth the effort. The sevice (and price) from PC Nation were the best! Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands
- Great product......using to scan about 5000 Kodak slides......many 50+ years old. The scanned image is very good.

This product was good for what it was intended But it didn't have the infer Red in the product . I was under the impression that it could clean up old pics, with soft ware but instead it needs another piece of hardward to do a good job. the one i need is one with inferred in the unit.
