So, is the PSP-3000 all it’s cracked up to be? Yes. Is it worth upgrading to from the PSP-2000? If you’ve got an extra $200 lying around and you don’t stick your nose six inches from the screen. I’d take a look at both in person and try out the buttons on both and see which floats your boat. I do have to say that the PSP-3000 hardware pwns that of the PSP-2000, but maybe it’s just me. The PlayStation portable (to give it its full name) isn't a new product, having been with us since 2005. We've always admired it for both the brilliance of its mobile gaming and the sheer tactility of its interface, but it'd be fair to say it hasn't all been plain sailing for Sony's portable powerstation. I am very disappointed in this product. It will not support my wireless internet at my house. I write to sony, and they tell me I need a "Wireless B signal" I contacted my ISP and router company and no one knows what a "B" signal is. Thus, I cannot get onto the internet with it. Considering its portable size, the PSP is an absolutely amazing gaming platform. It's probably superior to the original Playstation, and not far short of the PS2, all in a handheld form factor. The games that I've played and seen on the PSP make very few compromises in depth and complexity - they're not just casual five-minute timekillers. The features of this model met most of my expectations: Gaming on the go and watching movies. The gaming experience was more enjoyable than expected, gaming graphics are outstanding on the big, clear screen. Also for watching movies on the go. But the low sound quality stereo speakers don't make it a good music device without headphones. The body is very sluggish and slippery and I almost drop the PSP if my hands are sweaty.
