    Choosing a good keyboard and mouse is one of the most difficult choices I ever make and in so being I rarely switch my input devices. Using the MX5500 Revolution has made me quickly forget my old trusty mouse and keyboard. The keyboard is comfortable, responsive and customizable.     At $170, the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX5500 Revolution is far from being a bargain basement offering. It’s probably more than what most people are willing to spend on a wireless desktop set, so you would think that Logitech would step it up a notch or three to justify the higher asking price.     The keyboard is very comfortable to use and has a nice "quality" feel to it. I've been using it for 10 months now and the keyboard is still on the original batteries. I like the temperature readout on the keyboard as well as the numerous other features. It took a while to get used to all of the shortcuts available and I still forget some of the seldom used ones such as zoom. The mouse is also very comfortable to use, fitting my large hand nicely.     If you're like me and do a lot of media tasks, are a student/employed and use the microsoft suite and calculator functions frequently then this is a perfect combo for you! In that sense I would give it 5/5 stars. If you do all of the above and some casual gaming I would still recommend it and give it my offical 4/5 stars (As this is exactly what I do with the product) But if you were looking for something to satisfy your gaming needs you should probably look elsewhere.     Great feeling keyboard, very silky key stroke, much better than last generation Logitech combo. Bluetooth connection works perfectly from my machine which is 15 feet away from me. Setup was easy. The criticism of the calculator key not bringing up the Windows calculator as in the old one is easily fixed by linking another key (I use the PhotoGallery key) to the Windows calculator. Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution

De Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution is een combinatie van een draadloos toetsenbord met een draadloze muis. Beide kunnen draadloos verbinding maken met Windows XP of Windows Vista via USB Bleutooth tot een afstand van ongeveer 10 meter. Het Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution-toetsenbord wordt van stroom voorzien door vier AA Alkaline-batterijen, die zijn inberepen in het standaardpakket. Voor de muis worden geïntegreerde Li-ion herlaadbare batterijen meegeleverd, samen met een snelle oplaadklok. Voor de muis duurt het ongeveer twee uur voordat de batterijen volledig zijn opgeladen en bij gemiddeld gebruik gaan ze ongeveer 14 dagen mee.

Toetsenbord

Het toetsenbord van de Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution is voorzien van zachte oppervlakken om de handen en polsen te ondersteunen. Bij het toetsenbord hoort ook een LCD-scherm met een formaat van 74,9 x 20,1 mm, dat in het standaardpakket wordt meegeleverd. Dit scherm geeft de huidige datum, tijd en kamertemperatuur weer. Het kan ook andere functies weergeven, zoals de rekenmachine, de mediaspeler of het e-mailprogramma. Als de Bleutooth-verbinding wegvalt, wordt dit op het LCD-scherm weergegeven. Naast de standaard QWERTY-toetsen, beschikt het toetsenbord over diverse functietoetsen. Bovenaan het toetsenbord bevinden zich de kleine Fn-toetsen op een rij. Rechts van deze rij vind je de rekenmachine- en slaapstandknoppen. De multimediaknoppen zitten aan de rechterkant van het toetsenbord, waar zich ook de in- en uitzoomknoppen en de Flip3D-knop bevinden. Voor de multimediaknoppen kun je ook secundaire functies instellen. De knoppen bieden toegang tot deze functies als je ze in combinatie met de Fn-toets gebruikt. Het toetsenbord heeft ook Vista-specifieke toetsen, die je rechtsonder kunt vinden. Onder deze toetsen vind je het Media Center, de Fotogalerij en Gadgets.

Muis

De Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution draadloze muis is alleen geschikt voor rechtshandigen. De muis is voorzien van een MicroGear Tilt Wheel om door documenten en pagina’s te scrollen. Onderaan het muiswiel bevindt zich een zoekknop. De muis heeft bovendien een tweede wiel, dat met de duim kan worden bediend. Met dit wiel kun je tussen applicaties schakelen met Vista Flip3D. XP-gebruikers kunnen dit wiel gebruiken voor het schakelen tussen taken.
