    The Lord of the Rings: Conquest is niet de game geworden waar ik al tijden lang op hoopte. De gameplay valt al snel in herhaling, je bent regelmatig veel aan het inhakken op hordes vijanden, visueel is het geheel vrij matig en de camera vertoont ook wat zwakke punten. Daar staat tegenover dat je wel diverse grote namen uit Midden-Aarde onder je knoppen kunt krijgen, bekende veldslagen vanuit een ander perspectief kunt spelen en zelfs aan de kant van het kwade mag...     Dit brengt ons ook bij het afsluitende dilemma omtrent een concreet koopadvies. Heb je niet veel met de wereld van Tolkien of een gemiddelde hack ’n slash-game, laat dit spel dan liggen en je mist er helemaal niets aan. Vond je de Lord of the Rings-films zeer interessant en verwacht je veel uitstraling en afwisseling van een game, laat Conquest ook dan voorlopig liggen en wacht op een afgeprijsde versie of leen hem een tijdje van iemand.     For most LOTR games I might normally write something here like, “Fans of The Lord of the Rings would enjoy this game and everyone else, stay clear.” However, I don’t think that even the most loyal Lord of the Rings fans will get too much value out of this game. The online elements add only a few extra hours of enjoyment but, like the single player game, there really isn’t much under the hood to justify this game’s price tag or your time playing it.     • Mindless button mashing. Horrible AI. Poor Graphics. Terrible controls. Lots of bugs and glitches.

    Overall, this is a fun game. The different playable characters and battle locations are very fun to experience. The combat is fun and the heroes are a highlight of the game. You can even play as the Dark Lord himself; yes that's right, you can play as Sauron. Although, there are a few drawbacks. The graphics do not live up to Xbox 360 standards and are less than awesome.     I bought this game for my son,who loves the movie and is a xbox nut. He was originally put off by its dark appearence and what he called "it's 2-D graphics" but,when he finally got around to playing it he couldn't stop talking about it!With the prices of the games today and how fast they can clear them,I still ended up the cool dad for a bargain.     The part where Conquest shines is the stellar gameplay. Swinging a sword as a warrior through a rally of orcs never felt more satisfying. Scouts take a defensive approach and sneak up on enemies. Archers attack long-range and are helpful as a starting line. Mages afford magic spells, and without them, Tolkien's universe would not be complete. Run up to many enemies and use special attacks to shove them aside and continue your march to victory. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

    This is a fun game, especially for fans of LOTR. At most points it focuses on you playing one of four classes (Warrior, Scout, Archer, or Mage), while at certain points you are able to play some of the well known heroes (or villains) from the LOTR. As well as playing through the known LOTR storyline there is also a chance to play as the bad guys in a kind of "what if" situation, but only once you have completed the main campaign.
