Doom 3 is een FPS-game met een horrortheme, die vrijwel geheel single playergeoriënteerd is en daarin ook heel lekker wegspeelt. Doom 3 is ook niet meer dan dat: een lekkere single player-FPS-game. Geen revolutie dus. Ook de graphics zijn niet revolutionair te noemen, aangezien ze niet zoveel meer bieden dan bijvoorbeeld Far Cry en Deus Ex: Invisible War. I got the PC version of Doom 3 the day it came out and have since played the crap out of it, but I am more eager to play through the Xbox version because it really is much more suited for my gaming style and preferences. Doom 3 is a scary romp into the dark trenches of the mind that is ironically using a formula used for games of the same name for the past fifteen years. Add in fantastic visuals, glorious sound, and a little bit of multiplayer and you have a pretty scary and solid experience that everyone should at least give a try. Lees Meer Translate to Nederlands

Without question, Doom 3 is a technical marvel. The way that lighting is used to make the shadows as formidable an opponent as the creatures that they hide is fantastic; but the genre has evolved to the point that people demand more than great graphics and mindless, randomly spawning enemies. The multiplayer deathmatch aspect of Doom 3 is rather disappointing after the impressiveness of Halo 2, with only a maximum of 4 players System Link or Xbox Live. The 5 multiplayer maps are small and rather retro in design, as is the run & gun gameplay. Doom 3 (xbox) Eerder speelde en reviewde ik het spel doom 3 al voor de computer, maar nu kreeg ik het spel ook voor de xbox. Ik was wel erg benieuwd naar eventuele nieuwe functies en of het spel even goed functioneerde als zijn computer broertje. Een ding stond in ieder geval vast: dat het weer zou zorgen voor enkele spannende uurtjes. Verhaal Jij bent een stoere marine gast die aankomt op Mars om daar missies te volbrengen. Lees Meer

When ID Software went through porting a graphic heavy game such as Doom 3 to XBox, it made me wonder about quality. I quickly dimissed that notion. While it would be unfair to compare it to the PC, it looks amazing on a console. It does, however "lag" when hoardes of demons attack in an open room, it is VERY minimal and hardly noticeable or annoying. FPS are always better on the PC.
